Kasturaba College of Nursing (KCON) is one of the pioneering private institutions offering B.Sc. Nursing, Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing, GNM, and ANM programs, committed to providing quality education in the nursing profession. Established in 2020, during the COVID-19 pandemic, KCON remained steadfast in its dedication to education without compromise.

Our institution is affiliated with MKCG Medical College, a premier tertiary healthcare center under the Government of Odisha, renowned for its exceptional medical services. MKCG Medical College houses approximately 1,500 beds with multi-specialty wards and specialized wings, including Maternal & Child Health, Pediatrics, Emergency & Trauma Care, Radiology, and Blood Bank.

KCON ensures comprehensive clinical training by affiliating with both rural and urban healthcare centres, providing students with hands-on patient care experience. Regular clinical postings enable students to gain exposure to diverse medical cases, enhancing their practical skills.

The institution boasts a well-equipped library, computer lab, and free internet facilities, along with complimentary books to support student learning. Additionally, KCON has established collaborations with national and international organizations, enhancing students' global exposure and educational standards.

KCON actively organizes continuing education programs in partnership with internationally qualified faculty, ensuring students stay updated with advancements in the field. Furthermore, the institution has collaborated with iQuery Australia to establish a Centre of Excellence for International Careers & Education, offering support for higher education abroad, scholarship provisions, and affordable coaching for English proficiency tests.

Principal's Message

Nursing is one of the strongest pillars that the medical profession stands on. It is the noblest of all professions and in immense demand globally offering a highly rewarding career. The profession revolves around taking physical as well as psychological care of the sick and vulnerable group.
Education of nurses contributes a lot to promote and maintain the health of the nation as a whole and thereby progress of a country. Transformation of nursing practice for our ever changing and dynamic health system requires a fundamental re-conceptualization of nursing education.

President's Message

KCON is managed by a team of four highly qualified and visionary trustees who are dedicated to the institution's growth and development. They have invested their personal resources to provide quality education to underprivileged students.

President – Dr. Renubala Panda (M.A(home Science). MBA(HR), Ph.D.)
A seasoned educationist with over 30 years of experience, Dr. Panda serves as a Lady Mobiliser under National Coperative Union of India . She has participated in numerous national and international conferences and has organized several training programs for the public and healthcare staff. Her contributions have earned her multiple prestigious awards.

Faculty and Teaching

KCON employs highly qualified and dedicated faculty members who are carefully selected based on their expertise and commitment to student welfare. Faculty members receive specialized training in Objective Structured Clinical Examination (OSCE)-based education; ensuring students develop strong clinical competencies.

The faculty undergoes regular monitoring and evaluation by the Principal and academic forums are conducted frequently to enhance their knowledge and teaching methodologies. The hiring process ensures only the best educators are selected to maintain KCON’s high educational standards.
